NEW CHURCH FLOORING:

The work went well last week and will continue this week so Mass from Monday to Saturday (except Tuesday) will be at 10am in the Parish Hall.  With a bit of luck next weekend we will have a beautiful new Sanctuary floor.  Thank you to those who worked to clean the Church on Saturday morning for Sunday, but a bit more help would be good.  Please if you can spare some time this coming Saturday after the 10am Mass it would be much appreciated.

REQUIEM, COLIN HUGHES RIP:

The funeral will take place on Tuesday 10th August at 10 am IN THE CHURCH

FR JOHN MILLER:

Welcome to Fr John Miller who will be celebrating some of the Masses this weekend.  We are very grateful to him for this.

DEACON VINCENT:

Congratulations to Deacon Vincent, who has been informed by the Archbishop that he will be ordained to the priesthood at midday on Saturday 30th October at Tollington Park Parish.

PARISH OFFICE:

Due to holidays, the office will be open on Monday and Friday only of this coming week.  If you have a non-emergency query please use email rather than the phone on the days the office is closed.  Thank you.

APPEAL - SISTERS OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS AND MARY:

We welcome Sr. Una Mulvey and Sr. Eileen McLoughlin, who will be speaking at all Masses next weekend about the work of their congregation.  There will be a collection after each mass.  Please be as generous as you can.  Thank you.

PAPAL VISIT 2010:

HYDE PARK PRAYER VIGIL – 18th SEPT

BIRMINGHAM MASS – 19th SEPT.

Thank you for your response to the above.  The lists have been submitted to the Diocese.  Travel arrangements and times will be announced as soon as we know them but the good news is that the tickets for Hyde Park have been reduced to £5, removing the travel card element after comments made to the organizers were taken into account.

We have been advised that we have until Monday 9th August to submit any further numbers for Hyde Park tickets.  Please complete the form at the back of the church TODAY if you have not already signed up for this event, but would still like to do so.  Thank you.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY:

We are looking for catechists to join the team for this important task, which takes place during the 11.15 am Mass.  If you think you could help, or would like to know more, please complete the tear off slip at the bottom of the newsletter.  Please also indicate if you would like to take on the task of co-ordinating the catechists rota.
