FR ANDREW WRITES
In amongst all the doom and gloom on the news at the moment it is lovely to be able to share some good news!  On Tuesday we had a lovely celebration when the newly ordained Fr David Knight returned to celebrate a mass of thanksgiving.  This weekend we have the joy of welcoming Deji Oduyemi into the full communion of the Catholic Church.  Deji, who has been preparing for this for many months, will be received and confirmed and make his first Holy Communion at the 6pm mass on Saturday.  Jenella Rego will make her first Holy Communion at the 4pm mass on Saturday.  Congratulations to Deji and Jenella and we will keep them both in our prayers.

TRACK & TRACE — NEW QR CODE
Following the latest Government regulations, we have now created a QR code for the church.  To use the QR code you will need to download the NHS COVID-19 App from the Apple App Store, or Android Google Play then, as you enter the church, open the app, click “Venue check-in” and then point your phone at the QR code to scan it.  The App will notify you automatically if you come into contact with someone who subsequently tests positive for the virus.
If you can’t use the QR code, please continue to either email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. each time you come to mass, stating the time and date you came or (if you don’t have email) leave your details on a piece of paper.  All three give us the same information that we will need if it becomes necessary to track and trace parishioners.
Please remember that you should not come to mass if you have tested positive for COVID19 in the last 14 days or if you think you have symptoms of COVID19 or if you have come into contact with someone who has in the last 14 days.  Thank you for your cooperation.

VOLUNTEERS
We’re very grateful to those who volunteered to help stewarding/cleaning in the church. Some of them have served almost every week. We are really looking to recruit more volunteers. Please email or ring the Parish Office for more details.  If the church can not be cleaned between Masses we are not able to open for future services.

NEW ROUTINE FOR HOLY COMMUNION
Please remember to observe social distancing by leaving  a space between each other in the procession. Remember that the centre benches should come up first starting with the front and moving to the back.  Once people at the back of the centre benches have been to communion people in the side benches should come up, starting at the back so that people in the front of the side benches should come up last.
If you are in the side benches please do not cut through the centre benches to receive Holy Communion, move to the back of church and then up the centre aisle instead.  Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS 2020
The First Holy Communion Masses will be celebrated here in church in October.
Unfortunately, the places at these Masses are strictly limited so it will not be possible to invite other parishioners. Thank you for your understanding.

Fr David has written to the parents and candidates about the delayed Confirmations. Parents are asked to reply to Teresa Buffery on This email address is being protected from spambots. We already have a few adults signed up for the new RCIA. Do you come to Mass here and want to become a Catholic? Perhaps you’re already a Catholic but you were not confirmed? Please contact the Parish Office if you would like to speak to Fr Andrew.

We are beginning the registrations for First Holy Communion 2021. This is for Catholic children in school year 3. Forms are available at the back of church. Please take one, complete it, and return asap.

SECONDARY SCHOOL FORMS
We are working with the diocese regarding the signing of secondary school forms. Please wait for information.

HOLY COMMUNION HOME VISITS
We received some positive guidance from the diocese on this recently. However, the current situation may be overtaking that advice. We will keep this under review for the next week or so, and then give more information.

The Parish Office is in operation but closed to visitors. We ask that you phone or email first, and not come to the door without prior arrangements. No exceptions please!
