FR DAVID WRITES
Today on the Third Sunday of Easter we hear the beautiful Gospel story about the mysterious appearance of the Risen Jesus on the way to Emmaus, and about how the disciples not only recognised him at the breaking of bread but also about how their faith in the resurrection was confirmed. They asked each other, 'Did not our hearts burn within us?'. May we too, like them, be moved by the power of God's word and come to even greater faith in the Risen Lord. Next week, the Fourth Sunday of Easter, is known as Good Shepherd Sunday and is the World Day of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and Consecrated Life.

PLANNED GIVING
Obviously, people are unable to put the envelopes in the offertory collection at this time. However, we're very grateful to those who have posted contributions or give by standing order. As you can imagine, we do still have to find our way through this situation. We have overheads and other important responsibilities to meet. For this reason, we have set up a Virgin Money Giving page where you can contribute towards the parish from the safety and comfort of your own home. We can also collect the Gift Aid tax refunds from this where appropriate. Please visit this link and follow the instructions: https://bit.ly/351oEYd

VIA LUCIS - THE WAY OF LIGHT
Some priest friends of ours have created a YouTube online prayer resource for Easter called 'Via Lucis - the Stations of the Resurrection'. They are happy to share it with us. Please use this link

LOURDES PILGRIMAGE
For those who booked to go on the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, I am sure you will have heard from Tangney Tours that this is cancelled due to the international crisis. Tangney have offered either to hold your payment till next year or give a refund. For your information, the priests have opted for a refund because we haven't fully prepared our outline for next year's activities or the parish diary. It's up to individuals to decide what to do. If you want to take the refund, you need to request it from Tangney Tours Ltd. But please note that we are not certain that we will be able to participate as a parish next year.

FUNERALS THIS WEEK
This week we will have the funerals for Larry Andrews, Salvo Vincini, and Nora Good. Please pray for the repose of their souls, and for their families at this most difficult time.

PLEASE STAY AT HOME
Thank you for continuing to stay at home and for not coming to church. The church, hall, office and presbytery are all closed until further notice. Let us (or a friend or neighbour) know if you need any help. Don't be tempted to come out - stay at home, shield yourselves and keep safe! God bless you all. Fr D.
