THIS WEEK’S READINGS: Isaiah 25: 6-10 On the mountain of Zion, God celebrates the end of death in a banquet with all peoples, whose sorrow and suffering are removed for ever. Philippians 4: 12-14, 19-20 The apostle Paul is in prison, yet even there rejoices in God and in his companions for the strength and equanimity to accept whatever befalls him. Matthew 22: 1-14 God’s kingdom is described as being like a great feast to which everyone, both bad and good, is invited, but not everyone accepts the invitation.
