Before Jesus is taken up to heaven he instructs the apostles about the kingdom and their mission to bear witness to him.

Ephesians 1: 17-23

Paul prays that God may fill us with a deeper understanding of all the rich glories that he has promised we will inherit through the victory of Christ.

Mark 16: 15-20
Before Jesus ascends to the right hand of God he commissions the apostles to take the Gospel to the whole of creation.

The newly converted Saul has been preaching in the name of Jesus, and is accepted by the apostolic church in Jerusalem.

 

1 John 3: 18-24

God’s commandments can be summed up in two imperatives: to believe in Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he taught us.

 

John 15: 1-8

The grace of Christ, which he gives to us, is the source of all our belief and good works.  We are called to be his disciples and to be fruitful.
