Sunday 3rd May 2026. Fifth Sunday of Easter

FR DAVID WRITES
Congratulations to the children and their families who celebrated First Holy Communion with us this weekend. May God continue to bless them, and may he bring to perfection the good work he has begun in them. Many thanks to the choir and catechists for helping with our celebrations. The Easter Season continues for the next four weeks. A week on Thursday it will be Ascension, followed by Pentecost on Sunday 24 May. May God bless us all this week.
Sunday 26th April 2026. Fourth Sunday of Easter

FR TOM WRITES
On Good Shepherd Sunday, we hear Christ call each of us by name. All vocations, whether it be marriage, priesthood, or religious life, are a response to His voice, a unique path to love and holiness. The priesthood, in a special way, reflects Christ the Good Shepherd, who guides His people through Word and Sacrament. All vocations share the same beauty: a life given in love, for God and for others, but this weekend let us pray for our priests, and for all those Lord is calling to the priesthood.
Sunday 19th April 2026. Third Sunday of Easter

FR DAVID WRITES
Today is the Third Sunday of Easter when we hear the beautiful Gospel account of the two disciples who meet the Risen Lord on the way to Emmaus. He comes to meet us too, as he opens our hearts and reveals his presence in the Breaking of Bread. Let us continue to live these joyful days of Easter with faith and devotion. Please pray for the children and young people in our parish at this sacramental time.

Memories of One of the First Parishioners
Steve Coleman was a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes from even before the church was built. With permission from his son, Peter Coleman, here are his memoirs of the founding of the parish and local life in the first half of the 20th century.

Steve Coleman (right, holding the book) at the blessing for the building of the new church, watching his shoes disappear into the mud!
