We have two new galleries online: one of the Scout Camp in 2009, with lots of photos of the Scouts and Brownies during their trip, and another of the Runnymede Cruise taken by the Bernadette Club a couple of years ago. If you haven't looked recently, there are many other new galleries on the gallery page.

LENT BEGINS ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17th WITH ASH WEDNESDAY Lent was originally the season of preparation for Easter. The traditional ways of preparation were fasting, praying and almsgiving. Prayer gives time to God, fasting diminishes selfishness and almsgiving helps others. Jesus spent forty days in the desert preparing for his work, whilst the Israelites spent forty years in the desert preparing for the Promised Land. We spend forty days of Lent preparing to celebrate the great events of our faith: the Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Christ. ASH WEDNESDAY MASS TIMES: 8 am, 10 am and 7.30 pm. HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS AS TO HOW WE MIGHT PREPARE OURSELVES FOR EASTER |

t h e a t r e On Good Friday morning, the parish will be staging the musical liturgy “BORN FOR THIS” with support from Ten Ten Theatre. Parishioners of all ages and abilities are warmly invited to participate in the liturgy. We are looking for people to take part in the following ways: | MUSIC | PERFORMANCE | STAGE MANAGEMENT | | Musicians | Actors | Stage Managers | | Choir | Movement | Set-builders | | Soloists | Readers | Costume-makers | An initial meeting will take place on Tuesday 9 February at 7.45pm followed by subsequent rehearsals throughout Lent. There will be varying levels of commitment depending on your participation. Whether you are an experienced musician, singer or performer, or if you have never been involved in anything like this before, you would be most welcome to take part in this Lenten community project. |
